BIOGRAPHY

Kenny Haining is a singer/songwriter based in Edinburgh who makes Rock 'n' Roll, Blues, and Surf with an irreverent humour that traverses the banalities of every day life, to space opera and trans-humanist love, sometimes in the same song.

He began making music around the age of 15, playing guitar and singing in a number of Stone Roses clone bands, went through a brief stage of DJing and creating electronic music, during which he trained as a Sound Engineer with Indie/dub/pop pioneers One Dove, then for a while made ludicrously dark and paranoid music mixing electronic instruments with guitars. Becoming bored with an increasingly bland modern music scene he turned to earlier music such as 50s Rock 'n' Roll, Surf and Rockabilly for inspiration.

With the rise of the World Wide Web his eyes were opened to the truth behind world events, prompting the formation of The Truth Rockets with friends from Uni Steve Orr and Greg Haddow. Now solo Kenny is concentrating on recording with occasional live appearances in Edinburgh where he works as a designer.
